Understanding Telephone Numbering
Telephone numbers are taken for granted
I mean how difficult can it be?
They're just telephone
numbers aren't they?
But what happens when these phone numbers don't work any longer?
How much pressure would you be under if your important telephone numbers cannot be called any longer?
There is never a more important time to understand your telephone numbers than when digitally transforming your organisation, especially bearing in mind that all analogue and digital telephony services will be de-commissioned by 2025
Lines and numbers can be used for a whole host of reasons, for example: -
• For security uses such as alarms or Redcare services
• For specific uses such as remote access, fax, modems, lifts or payphones
As part of an estate, lines and numbers can often fall in to a category of low usage or no usage at all, but this does not mean they are not used for incoming calls or emergency purposes
At Segmentation, we understand the importance of getting this right and care that every element is understood, whether it is Geographic Main Numbers and Direct Dial Ranges,
Non-Geographic Numbers used for Contact Centres, or individual lines and numbers for separate applications, we understand the importance of determining how calls are routed and where they are answered.
As part of any study, we can help you understand which numbers need to be kept and which can be removed
